Humana Medicare Supplement Plan Types

Humana sells all 10 standardized Medicare Supplement plans, each covering different benefits at different costs. Plan availability depends on where you live.

  • Plan A: Covers basic Medicare Supplement benefits including Part A coinsurance, Part B coinsurance and three pints of blood annually without covering deductibles or foreign travel.
  • Plan B: Includes Plan A benefits plus coverage for the Medicare Part A deductible of $1,736 in 2026.
  • Plan C: Covers both Part A and Part B deductibles, skilled nursing facility co-insurance and foreign travel emergency care, but isn't available to people who became eligible for Medicare on or after Jan. 1, 2020.
  • Plan D: Covers the Part A deductible, skilled nursing facility coinsurance and foreign travel emergency care without covering the Part B deductible.
  • Plan F: Gives the most comprehensive Medicare Supplement coverage, paying all Medicare deductibles and coinsurance, but isn't available to people who became eligible for Medicare on or after Jan. 1, 2020.
  • Plan G: Mirrors Plan F coverage except you pay the annual Part B deductible yourself. It's the most comprehensive plan available to all Medicare beneficiaries.
  • Plan K: Covers 50% of most benefits until you reach the annual out-of-pocket limit, after which it pays 100% of covered services.
  • Plan L: Covers 75% of most benefits until you reach the annual out-of-pocket limit. It sits between Plans K and G on cost-sharing exposure.
  • Plan M: Covers 50% of the Part A deductible along with full coverage for Part A and Part B coinsurance and foreign travel emergency care.
  • Plan N: Requires you to pay the Part B deductible and and copays of up to $20 for office visits and up to $50 for emergency room visits while covering most other Medicare expenses.

Humana also has high-deductible versions of Plan F and Plan G, which feature the same benefits with lower monthly premiums but require you to pay a $2,950 deductible in 2026 before coverage begins.

Plans K and L are available in 11 of 48 states. These are the only plans with annual out-of-pocket limits. Enrollees without access to those plans have fewer ways to cap costs during high-use years. Plan G is available in every state Humana serves.

Humana Medicare Supplement Plans Cost

Humana's plan premiums range from $129 to $524 per month for 65-year-olds. Six of the 10 plan types cost above the national average and Plan M costs $524 per month, for a plan that covers only 50% of the Part A deductible. An enrollee still owes $868 out of pocket in 2026. Plan N covers more and costs $201 monthly.

Plans A, B and F are the only plan types priced below the national average. Plan F is open to enrollees who became Medicare-eligible before January 1, 2020 only. That pool shrinks each year.

Plan G at $170, costs $10 more than the national average, $120 more per year, for coverage identical to Plan G at any other carrier. Plan M costs $524 per month ($6,288 per year), for a plan that covers only 50% of the Part A deductible.
Plan G goes from $170 at 65 to $202 at 75, a $384 annual cost increase by age 75. Community pricing, used in Arkansas, Idaho, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Vermont and Washington, holds rates flat regardless of age.

Humana Member Benefits

Six member benefits come with every Humana Medicare Supplement plan beyond standard Medigap coverage. SilverSneakers provides the most value for many enrollees. Plan G runs about $120 per year above the national average, and access to more than 15,000 fitness locations helps justify the higher cost for active members.

  • SilverSneakers Fitness Program: Includes access to over 15,000 participating fitness locations, group exercise classes and personalized fitness plans. Not available with Humana Achieve plans. For enrollees who use it regularly, SilverSneakers membership has a retail value that can recover part of the $120 annual premium gap over the national average.
  • Vision and Hearing Discounts: Save money through EyeMed's Select network, including LensCrafters, Pearle Vision and Target Optical, plus discounts on hearing exams and hearing aids.
  • Meal Delivery Service: Qualifying members receive precooked frozen meals delivered to their home after an overnight hospital stay or nursing facility discharge.
  • 24/7 Nurse Advice Line: The HumanaFirst Nurse Advice Line connects you with registered nurses anytime.
  • Prescription Drug Discounts: RightSource mail-order service sends 90-day medication supplies to your home. Humana provides monthly SmartSummary Rx statements explaining benefits and savings. Medicare Supplement plans don't include drug coverage. You'll need a separate Medicare Part D plan regardless of which Medigap plan you choose.
  • Digital Tools: MyHumana gives you secure access to plan benefits, claims history and pharmacy tools on the website or mobile app.

Our Methodology

MoneyGeek collected data for all Medicare plans nationwide for ages 65 and 75, using the plan browsing tool at Medicare.gov. Unless otherwise noted, the data in this article references quotes pulled for 65-year-olds in the state.

We scored Medigap companies based on three main categories to create a weighted score out of 5:

  • Affordability (50%): Providers with the lowest monthly cost score higher.
  • Pricing style (20%): Medigap insurers use three methods to determine premiums: community pricing, issue-age pricing and attained age pricing. We gave higher scores for pricing styles that are more stable and equitable, as follows: community pricing 1.0, issue-age pricing 0.8, attained-age pricing 0.6. Using this scaling, a slightly higher-cost community-rated plan can still score higher overall than a cheaper but more volatile attained-age plan.
  • Plan and state availability (30%): Providers with a wider range of plan types score higher, with weighted scoring given to the most popular Plan G, Plan F and Plan N. Providers that have broader nationwide availability across more states also score higher.
