MoneyGeek ranked the best car insurance companies In Providence, RI, based on affordability, customer satisfaction, claims and financial stability ratings. We obtained data from industry-leading agencies, including J.D. Power, AM Best and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).

MoneyGeek’s scoring system weighted scores for the different assessment categories as follows:

  • Affordability (70%): MoneyGeek collected average car insurance costs from insurance companies in Providence and rated them on a scale of one to five based on their affordability.
  • Customer and claims satisfaction (20%): MoneyGeek evaluated surveys from J.D. Power to measure customer satisfaction scores for different providers with user satisfaction and claims weighted at 10% each.
  • Financial stability (10%): MoneyGeek used AM Best ratings to score providers on a scale of one to five based on the provider’s capacity to fulfill its financial obligations to clients.

MoneyGeek then applied a 100-point scale to the overall scores. We calculated affordability scores using different variables, including age, driving record and coverage levels, which were adjusted as appropriate for specific driver profiles.
