Venus Zoleta
Managing Editor
Venus Zoleta is Managing Editor at MoneyGeek, where she oversees editorial quality, structure and consistency across the site's insurance and personal finance content. Her more than 20 years in journalism, editorial leadership and digital content strategy shape how she evaluates clarity, factual accuracy and site-wide editorial standards.
Research and Editorial Work
At MoneyGeek, Zoleta reviews large-scale research projects comparing coverage limits, exclusions, endorsement options and claims handling practices among major U.S. insurers. That research feeds MoneyGeek's rate tables and provider comparisons. She also edits auto, business, home, life and health insurance articles for accuracy, editorial structure and source verification before publication.
Data journalism pieces get the same treatment, with her review focused on statistical claims, data sourcing and methodology accuracy. Recently edited work includes MoneyGeek's cost-of-driving study across all 50 states and analysis of reimbursement gaps, provider shortages and parity enforcement data.
She built the editorial style guide and insurance content guidelines MoneyGeek currently uses, which established the accuracy, sourcing and structural standards applied across the site.
Career
Zoleta joined MoneyGeek as Senior Content Editor in mid-2024 and became Managing Editor in November 2025.
Before MoneyGeek, she spent more than six years at Moneymax, one of the largest personal finance and insurance comparison platforms in Southeast Asia, including nearly three years as Head of Editorial Content. There, she led teams of four to eight editors, writers, SEO and social media specialists who produced product comparisons, explainers and how-to guides covering auto, life, health and travel insurance, as well as loans, credit cards and personal finance. She worked directly with insurance rate tables, coverage and price comparisons, and provider listings. That hands-on experience with data structures carries directly into her editorial review at MoneyGeek.
Earlier in her career, she worked as a staff writer and researcher at the Center for Media Freedom and Responsibility, a nonprofit that monitors press freedom and journalistic standards, where she researched and analyzed broadcast and print coverage in politics, economics and public affairs. That work sharpened her source verification and factual accountability skills.
She then spent six years at U.S. Auto Parts Network, a U.S.-based e-commerce retailer, where she advanced from content writer to editor and supervisor. In that role, she honed her editorial standards and content production skills for an American consumer audience.
At Growth Rocket, she supervised a team of web copywriters and editors, developed editorial guidelines and established content workflows for U.S.-based businesses. As Content Lead at Penbrothers, she directed content strategy, quality assurance and editorial standards across digital channels for international markets, including the United States.
