Nica Gonzales is a Senior Content Editor at MoneyGeek, where she reviews and edits guides, comparisons and research-backed articles covering insurance and broader personal finance topics for U.S. consumers. She reviews each piece for data consistency, tone and brevity, and grammatical accuracy, making complex financial topics clear and accessible to a wider audience.
Career
Before joining MoneyGeek in 2024, Gonzales spent nearly nine years at Wells Fargo, progressing from copy editor to senior AVP/senior copy editor. She edited multi-channel marketing assets for various consumer segments (small business, wholesale, retail banking, auto finance), ensuring brand compliance and editorial consistency across B2B and B2C materials in print and digital formats.
In her senior role, she led the copy editing team, managed resources and editor training, and worked with creative, production and execution teams to resolve workflow issues. She also contributed to the company's style guide by documenting business-line exceptions and best practices, work that gave her a deep understanding of how editorial standards are constructed and enforced at scale. That combination of cross-functional coordination and style system ownership informs the consistency and accuracy standards she applies to her work at MoneyGeek today. Her time at Wells Fargo also deepened her familiarity with consumer financial regulations and lending products, giving her a working knowledge of the compliance standards behind responsible personal finance content.
Earlier in her career, Gonzales spent more than five years at Thomson Reuters in several editorial roles supporting Westlaw, one of the leading online legal research platforms for U.S. lawyers and legal professionals. She also produced content for MonitorSuite and FindLaw, products that provide strategic intelligence to businesses and other practice areas. Her editorial work at Thomson Reuters extended to Asian Legal Business, where she edited research summaries used by judging panels for four regional law awards programs. This focus on factual accuracy and source reliability in a high-stakes legal context carries directly into her work reviewing personal finance content, where precision matters just as much to consumers making financial decisions.
