Our Review Methodology

MoneyGeek collected rate data from 10 Medigap carriers in Georgia for 65-year-olds and 75-year-olds using the plan browsing tool at Medicare.gov. Data in this article references quotes for 65-year-olds in the state unless noted otherwise. Rates were collected in June 2026 for a 65-year-old nonsmoking female in Atlanta, Georgia (ZIP code 30301), using the plan comparison tool at Medicare.gov.

We scored Medigap companies in Georgia based on three main categories to create a weighted score out of 5:

  • Affordability (50%): The monthly premium for a 65-year-old drives this score. Lower cost earns a higher score with no floor.
  • Pricing style (20%): We scored Community Pricing at 1.0, Issue Age Pricing at 0.8 and Attained Age Pricing at 0.6. A community-rated carrier charging $10 more per month can still outscore a cheaper attained-age carrier because of long-term rate stability.
  • Plan availability (30%): Providers with a wider range of plan types score higher, with weighted scoring given to the most popular plan types like Plan G, Plan F and Plan N.
