It is important to note that Radisson Rewards has merged with Choice Hotels. How much Radisson points are worth depends on the redemption method you select. You should aim to get a value of over 0.4 cents per point. When booking a stay at Radisson properties, the average value is 0.4 cents to 0.5 cents per point, although you may even get 0.8 cents per point in some instances. If you opt for another redemption method, the value may drop to around 0.15 cents to 0.2 cents per point.

MoneyGeek’s Takeaways

One Radisson point's value typically varies from 0.4 cents to 0.5 cents.

Redeeming Radisson points for hotel stays tends to provide the best value.

You earn bonus points as you move from one elite status to the next.

The Radisson Rewards Program

With nine brands, the Radisson Hotel Group has over 1,100 hotels spread across over 95 countries. It runs the Radisson Rewards Americas program for its customers in the U.S., Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Earning and redeeming Radisson points is relatively simple. You earn points on eligible spending at over 600 Radisson properties across the Americas and by spending with its partner merchants. To earn points at Radisson properties elsewhere, you also need to join the Radisson Rewards program. This program caters to people in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.

There are multiple ways to redeem your points, which include using them for award nights and in-hotel services. Other options include using them to get gift cards or prepaid cards, transferring them to the Radisson Rewards program, transferring them to the program's airline partners and donating them to charity.

How Radisson Rewards Americas Points Compare to Other Hotels

Radisson gives you a wide variety of properties to choose from, and members of its rewards program enjoy various tier-specific benefits. However, other hotel rewards programs provide a better monetary value for their points.

We like the Radisson Rewards Americas program because it offers various properties across the U.S., Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean. Besides, if you’re also a member of the Radisson Rewards program, you can easily transfer your points between both programs. The fact that standard rooms come with no blackout dates is a definite plus. However, the absence of co-branded Radisson Rewards credit cards might be a drawback for some.

How to Earn Radisson Rewards Americas Points

How to earn Radisson points is simple. One way is to stay at properties that are part of the Radisson Rewards Americas program. You also can earn points through the program's car rental partners and other partner merchants.

Join Radisson Rewards Americas

You may join the Radisson Rewards Americas program by completing a simple online application. You'll need to provide your name, mailing address, email address and phone number. There is no fee to become a member. If you wish to earn reward points when staying at Radisson properties outside of the Americas, you also need to enroll in the Radisson Rewards program.

This rewards program does not offer any bonus points upon joining.

Book a Stay at Radisson Hotels

Eligible stays at properties that are part of the Radisson Rewards Americas program and food and beverage purchases charged to rooms during eligible stays earn 20 points per dollar. As you move up the membership ladder, you can earn bonus points. For example, Platinum members earn 35 points per dollar.

Members can earn points across all Radisson brands. These include Radisson, Radisson Collection, Radisson Blu, RED Radisson, Radisson Individuals, Radisson Inn & Suites, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson and Country Inn & Suites by Radisson.

Earn Points or Miles via Travel Credit Cards

U.S. Bank previously offered co-branded Radisson Rewards credit cards. But during the first half of 2022, the bank converted all existing Radisson Rewards cards to Altitude Go Visa cards.

Since there are currently no co-branded Radisson Rewards credit cards to choose from, you may benefit by looking at what some of the top travel credit cards have to offer. The Platinum Card from American Express, for instance, comes with complimentary Hilton Honors Gold Status and Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status. The Amex Platinum Card for Canadian residents offers Radisson Rewards Americas Gold Status as well.

Most travel cards let you earn points/miles on hotel stays, and you can redeem them in different ways, including booking stays and transferring them to various hotel rewards programs.

Buying Points From Radisson

Radisson Rewards Americas lets you buy up to 80,000 points each year in increments of 1,000. It sells 1,000 points for $7, so you pay 0.7 cents per point. This is lower than the average value you stand to receive in most cases. So, you may want to consider buying points only if you're getting a reward that provides a value of more than 0.7 cents per point.

If you purchase Radisson points during promotional offers, you stand to get better value. There are instances when Radisson offers bonuses of up to 100% when you buy points, so you might want to keep an eye out for such offers. If you purchase points when there's a 100% bonus offer, you'll get 2,000 points for $7.

Spending With Radisson Partner Merchants

Spending with the program's car rental and other partner merchants enables you to earn points faster.

  • Car rentals: Get 750 points per rental with Avis, Budget and Sixt. Get up to 1,800 points per eligible rental with Europcar.
  • Meeting and events: Radisson Rewards for Business Americas members get 5 points per dollar on meetings and events.
  • FTD: Get 2,500 points on every purchase.
  • Vinesse Wine Clubs: Your first shipment comes with 3,000 points, and the second shipment comes with 7,000 points. You earn 5 points per dollar on all subsequent orders.

Transferring Points to Radisson Rewards Americas

Many popular credit card rewards programs, such as American Express Membership Rewards, Citi ThankYou Rewards and Chase Ultimate Rewards, let you transfer your points to various airline and hotel partners. However, Radisson Rewards Americas does not feature on any of their lists.

How to Redeem Radisson Rewards Americas Points

If you're wondering how to redeem Radisson points, you need to start by logging into your Radisson Rewards Americas account. If you wish to use your points to book hotel stays, simply use the website's search tool to find hotels based on your requirements. Remember that the points you need to book a stay depend on the category of the hotel and the type of room you select.

If you don't have enough points for an award night, you may use the Points + Cash option. The number of points you need to book a stay at a hotel from any given category remains the same. The cash you need to pay depends on the property, type of room and your travel dates.

When redeeming your points for award nights, you should aim to get a value of 0.4 cents or more per point.

Transfer Points to Miles

You may use your points to book flight tickets with the program's airline partners. You also have the option to automatically redeem your Radisson points for airline miles by making the required changes in your profile’s earning preference. You may transfer Radisson points to the frequent flyer programs of several airlines, listed below:
