WHY TRUST OUR REVIEWS

When it comes to reviewing credit cards, MoneyGeek adheres to a well-defined and standardized methodology. We use the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau's database to gather information, standardize data points for comparison, estimate typical spending profiles, determine long-term worth and conduct regular re-ranking.

While the First Access Visa Solid Black Credit Card is best suited for individuals with poor credit, it comes with high fees and a similarly high APR that you may not see with other credit cards. However, the provider reports to the three major credit bureaus, which can be helpful for individuals looking to rebuild their credit rating.

There are no restrictions on spending, either: you can use your card to make purchases wherever it is accepted, provided your account is in good standing, and you have available credit.

MoneyGeek’s First Access Visa Solid Black Credit Card review will help you understand the features of this card and decide if it’s the best fit for your needs.

Additional Benefits

The First Access Solid Black Visa® Credit Card offers other features aside from being ideal for individuals with poor credit.

  • Credit Limit Increases: After 12 payment cycles, First Access may notify you or you may seek a credit limit increase. Note that there is a fee of 20% of the amount of the increase (so if your increase is $100, you’ll be charged $20).
  • Liability for unauthorized use of your card: You will not be held liable for an unauthorized card or account use if your card is lost or stolen. To protect your rights, you must contact First Access verbally or in writing as soon as you discover that your card has been lost, stolen, or used without your permission.
  • Customer center availability: You can contact the First Access team 24/7 if you have any complaints or need help with your credit card.
  • Fair credit limit: While the credit limit of $300 may seem low, remember that it's an unsecured card and you can seek limit increases after your first year of use. Keep in mind that the initial annual cost of $75 is subtracted from this total limit in the first year; after that, you pay $48 yearly.
