Overview of Liberty Mutual Home Insurance
Liberty Mutual has been in the insurance business for over 100 years. It started out in worker’s compensation, and later became famous for its work in auto safety research and education. Today it’s the third largest provider of homeowners insurance in the country, with a market share of about 6.7 percent. This success may be due in part to high-profile marketing campaigns, like sponsoring the American Olympics and Paralympics and providing insurance for the athletes’ medals. Or it may be because Liberty Mutual has leveraged an affinity partnership program with more than 14,000 groups and organizations nationwide into home insurance sales in 49 states.

The software estimates the replacement cost of your home, but you can change this number. If you reduce the coverage to a certain point, the system will warn you that the policy no longer qualifies for the Home Protector Plus coverage. In this case, you may be instructed call to purchase a policy.

The coverage for personal property is automatically set at 75 percent of the dwelling coverage.

The no-fault guest medical coverage is available in coverage levels of $1,000 to $5,000 in thousand-dollar increments.

The Home Protector Plus policy includes an automatic extra 20 percent of coverage above and beyond the stated replacement cost limit to rebuild the house in the case of a total loss.
Just about all of the optional extras that you will find in the home insurance industry are available on your Liberty Mutual policy, with the exception of equipment breakdown coverage.
